NEW YORK, June 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of its expansion to a full floor of exhibition space in Chelsea, the Onishi Project has welcomed back photographer H Hugh Miller for a solo exhibition, "Vanishing Horizons/ Expanding Visions." Following his 2013 solo show at the gallery, his work was shown in Rome, and he is now preparing a major solo show in Singapore scheduled for this fall.

H HUGH MILLER “Ice Cold” 2014, digital C-print with gallery plexiglass, 36 x 72 inches

This series is a vivid exploration of the horizon in Europe, Asia, America and Antarctica; on land and at sea, in day and at night. It challenges viewers to think about the reaches of their vision through various textures and colors. "The horizon is a vast space that we think of as just a line," said Miller, "a place where what we see separates from what we imagine." This body of work captures that aesthetic complexity of the horizon and the unexpected relationships that exist there.

"Miller's images envision both the dreamy fantasy of an untouched world of water, earth, wind, and fire, and the crisp reality of human intervention, by both hand and eye," said Nana Onishi, founder of the Onishi Project. "This unique collection brings together the light and dark, the solid and liquid, the center and edge-- leaving viewers in a moment of exquisite reflection."

The exhibit will run from June 12 to June 28, 2014. An opening reception will be held Thursday, June 12 from 6-8 p.m., and exhibit hours will be Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. - 6 p.m. For further information, please contact the Onishi Project at 212.695.8035 or by visiting onishiproject.com.

Much of Miller's recent still life and macro work has been on the uncertainty of what we see using bokeh, limited depth of field and reflections. The Horizon series takes the exploration to the range of our vision with landscapes. H Hugh Miller's most recent "Metalworks" abstract urban and architectural photography series is scheduled for a Singapore gallery in the fall of 2014.

H Hugh Miller is an American photographer who lives in the US and France.  He travels extensively and has previously exhibited in California & New York, Italy and France. To view Miller's work or order limited edition prints, visit www.hhughmiller.com.
