WAUSAU (WAOW)--Some area airports have seen an increase in air traffic because of the Experimental Aircraft Association convention in Oshkosh.
A spokesperson at the Wausau Municipal Airport says they were busy hosting the final leg of the Airventure Cup race which brought about 80 planes to the airport.
The Assistant Manager for the Stevens Point Airport has seen an increase in pilots landing to fuel their planes and heading on to Oshkosh.
The community of Stevens Point also has a Gateway to Oshkosh program.
Organizers say pilots can park their plane at the airport and avoid the hectic pace at the fly-in by riding a bus to Oshkosh.
It returns nightly to Stevens Point.
