UPDATE: Roads reopen after Lincoln Co. crash

Posted:
IRMA (WAOW) - Two people in a car were hurt in a crash with a semi-truck on U.S. Highway 51 at an intersection near Irma, the Lincoln County Sheriff's Department said.

The t-bone-style crash happened about 2:45 p.m. at the County Highway K intersection, he said.

The semi-truck, pulling a large dump trailer, was traveling on Highway K at the time of the crash, which closed the southbound lanes of Highway 51, he said.

Officials say they believe a mechanical malfunction contributed to the crash.

They say the crash has been cleared and all roads have been reopened.

The people hurt were taken to a Wausau hospital and were reported in stable condition late Tuesday afternoon, the investigator said. The crash is still under investigation.
